Berlin

This is my mini-Berlin-resumé. I want to record and reflect my experiences from the last few months in order to prevent forgetting all those wonderful details.
The most important thing I am taking home from Berlin is everything I learned here. Not only did I get an insight in the world and business of fashion, but also was I given to understand so many things about myself. I indeed have to say that my personality grew and developed during the last few months because I was all on my own and had to discover a way to get along.
Moreover I found out a lot about my friends, meaning: who is there for me and who won't care if I leave the city. The result was quite sobering. I realized that the ones who care only add up to a handful but I guess that it's better to have a handful of true friends than to have a huge crew who end up stabbing you're back.
About coming home to Munich, it truly is a funny thing. Nothing changes. Everything looks the same, feels the same, even smells the same. You realize what's changed is you.

Thoughts

"I’m going to tell you what a demon once told me: It is okay to want your own happiness. It’s okay to care about yourself the most. It’s okay to do what’s healthy for YOU. When someone hits you, it’s okay to hit back and then ask them what the hell they expected. It’s okay. You are not obligated to sit there and smile and swallow every bit of shit everyone heaps on you. You are more than furniture, you’re more than window dressing, you’re not their shiny toy. You’re human, and you have the right to say 'That was shitty of you.' You have a right to say 'Let me feed that back to you; tell me, how does it taste?' You have a right to protest your own mistreatment and set boundaries for respectful interactions. The rest of the world doesn’t realize you have this right, and they will act offended and appalled when you exercise it, but it is yours." —Sonneillon V.

I'm in MIAMI Beach ;)

I've been to Miami and the Caribbean lately and wanted to share some photos, it was like paradise :)

proud to be a girl

>> Using #LikeAGirl as an insult is a hard knock against any adolescent girl. And since the rest of puberty's really no picnic either, it's easy to see what a huge impact it can have on a girl's self-confidence.

We're kicking off an epic battle to make sure that girls everywhere keep their confidence throughout puberty and beyond, and making a start by showing them that doing it #LikeAGirl is an awesome thing.

"In my work as a documentarian, I have witnessed the confidence crisis among girls and the negative impact of stereotypes first-hand," said Lauren Greenfield, filmmaker and director of the #LikeAGirl video. "When the words 'like a girl' are used to mean something bad, it is profoundly disempowering. I am proud to partner with Always to shed light on how this simple phrase can have a significant and long-lasting impact on girls and women. I am excited to be a part of the movement to redefine 'like a girl' into a positive affirmation." <<

On board or at the beach?

Today the question is: cast away or shell shocked?

superduperpowerweekend

This weekend my girl came all the way from Munich to Berlin to visit me and spend an abnormally fun weekend in the city.
As we only had one full day together we wanted to get the most out of it and we succeeded.
So in the morning we fueled our bodies with yummy breakfast (oatmeal & berries / chia pudding & berries) and then went to all the cool places Berlin has to offer.

After walking for hours we settled at Mio Matto for lunch. It is (surprise, surprise!) a vegan restaurant where you can brunch all day long at the weekends -until 4 p.m. and enjoy the delicious hummus, couscous salad and so on.

When we finished our six plates of food (all-you-can-eat-offers always end that way) we carried on with our little sight seeing tour.

Neni & Monkey Bar (Bikini Berlin)

Yesterday I went to the restaurant 'Neni' for dinner which is in the new Bikini Berlin house. Before dinner me and my companion had a drink in the monkey bar exactly opposite of the restaurant. They also offer mouth-watering snacks there such as sweet potato fries. I was already quite hungry but I resisted to order some because after watching some soccer (Germany-USA) we went to dinner.

You can find the menu here

First of all the view from top of the Bikini Berlin is already breathtaking. The bar and restaurant are located on the 10th floor and you can enjoy a 360° view over the skyline of Berlin including the zoo -the monkeys cage is directly next to the house so you may watch them play :)

So after watching the game we finally found our way to the restaurant -with rumbling tummies- and ordered some starters right away. My companion went for the Moroccan speciality with codfish and spicy tomato ragout which was really good and I ordered some Couscous but only ate a tiny bit because it didn't taste that exciting.

The whole time we were enjoying the beautiful surrounding of the restaurant with it's gorgeous view

As a main course I had the Oriental-style pickled salmon with lava beans, peas, pomegranate seeds and citrus marinade which was d-e-l-i-c-i-o-u-s!

My counterpart had Hamshuka which is a special version of humus with minced beef and lamb. I can honestly recommend both dishes, which left us with a full tummy and tasted sooo extremely good :)

Missguided

I found my long lost love the missguided online shop again!

Since I have always and will always be a fan of jumpsuits and playsuits those two wonderful pieces are on my shopping list already:

This well-behaved look with the sneaky waist cut outs make the outfit look stylish and sexy at the same time.

As I love mint for this summer I think a one piece in this fresh and adorable colour is a must have. Particularly the back makes it suitable for a day in the city and combined with some nice heels for a night out with your girls. This playsuit is the pastel perfection that takes your mind to sipping cocktails and eating ice cream.

If you're on your way to the beach, the café or the shopping mall you might wanna wear something comfy and fancy -here you are:

Of course I could go on and on with listing pieces I fell in love with but I guess you'll just have to check out the shop yourself and I promise you won't regret it :)
